CBSE & SSC Board Exam Online Practice Test to begin from 27th Feb – 1st March

This is the time when the students appearing for Class X board exams should be most confident about their preparation levels. Online Practice test can help

Robomate+, the app for helping students master the concepts for CBSE and SSC Class X boards, has come up with an innovative solution. They are conducting online practice test called Robochamps for CBSE and SSC students. It aims at helping the students take practice tests between 27th Feb and 1st March 2017.

The Central Board of Secondary Education organizes a national level entrance exam called as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). For the year 2017, the exam will be conducted on 7th May 2017. This exam is held for admission into MBBS & BDS programmes that are offered by various colleges in India. In this article we provide you the complete information about NEET Exam Syllabus.

NEET Exam Syllabus 2017

The NEET 2017 syllabus will be prescribed by the Medical Council of India. The syllabus will be based on Class 11th & Class 12th subjects, chapters & topics. The syllabus will consist of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology & Botany. The NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by the Council Board of School Education (COBSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). Physics:

Class XI: Physical world and measurement, Laws of Motion, Kinematics, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Oscillations and Waves.

Chemistry

What is NEET?

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a qualifying entrance test conducted pan-India for students aspiring to pursue any medical courses at the graduate level like MBBS and BDS and also for some postgraduate courses in few selected medical colleges in India. For the graduate level courses, students passing out of grade XII school or equivalent from the Science Stream (with PCB combination) can appear for this test.

NEET 2017 Application Form

Candidates can get the NEET Application Form only via online mode. NEET 2017 application form is available from 31st January 2017.  The last date to submit the online application is 1st March 2017. Any request for changes in the entries of the application form can be entertained in March 2017. Candidates are advised to take the printout of the confirmation page and keep it safe for future use. There is no need to send the confirmation page to the authority.

Application Fee:

The fee payment can be done by online mode. Candidates can pay the NEET 2017 application form fee using debit/credit card/net banking/e-wallet. The NEET application fee is mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria

Students should meet the eligibility criteria before applying:

  • Minimum Age: Students should have completed the age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Maximum Age: Maximum age limit is 25 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission. The reserved categories will be provided the relaxation of five years.
  • Passed/Appeared: Students must have passed or appearing in the 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
  • Citizenship: Indian citizen and OCI candidates can apply for this exam.
  • Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar card is mandatory for all candidates except belonging to Assam, J&K and Meghalaya state.

NEET 2017 Exam Pattern

The detailed exam pattern of NEET 2017 exam is mentioned below:

  • Exam Mode: The NEET will be conducted on 7th May 2017 through pen & paper mode.
  • No. & Type of Question: In NEET exam pattern there will be 180 objective type question will be asked.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the entrance exam will be three hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for incorrect response.

NEET 2017 Application Dates

NEET 2017 Exam Dates for application form are tentative and will be updated by time:

  • NEET Notification Released – 31st January 2017
  • NEET Application form 2017 starts – 31st January 2017 (declared)
  • Last date to submit the application form – 1st March 2017
  • Admit card release – 15th April 2017
  • Exam date – 7th May 2017

Candidates can follow these steps to fill and submit the NEET 2017 application form:

Paper and Marking Criteria

Unravelling the examination

There are 4 sections of 45 questions each, with individual sections dedicated to testing the skills of the students in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology respectively. The paper carries 4 marks to each correct answer, totalling to 720 marks in all.

NEET 2017 Syllabus: By CBSE

The examination paper is in the form of an OMR answer sheet with 4 options to each MCQ question. The wrong answer or multiple answers to one question carries a penalty of one mark deducted as negative marking.

The duration of the exam is three hours and the syllabus is based on CBSE prescribed syllabus for NEET 2017. The exam is conducted by CBSE in multiple languages (English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu) and the students can opt for any language as they are comfortable.

Admissions after NEET

The colleges that can be pursued after NEET include all government medical colleges, run by the central or state governments and many private colleges, as mandated by the orders of the Supreme Court in 2016.

Counselling

The NEET qualified students will get their admissions to various MBBS/BDS colleges based on the counselling sessions. The aspirants have to register themselves for the counselling online. Details like their name, registration number, DOB and other basic details need to be entered and a login and a password will be allotted via email or mobile number specified. This login can be used to fill out the list of preferred colleges and courses that the student would like to enrol in, depending upon his/her eligibility. Finally, ‘locking’ these choices is needed by clicking on a ‘Save’ button.

After the counselling process is done, the results will be declared and a notification sent via SMS or email, with the allotted courses and colleges. The students must report to the allotted college within the given time and confirm their seat by paying the fees, failing which the seat will be automatically passed on to the next eligible candidate.
