Test Papers – ICSE – Class – X
CET till now
The MAH MBA CET till 2016, followed certain standard characteristics which will see a change this year. But there are certain aspects of the exam which will remain unchanged. A brief of the various important factors of the exam can be listed as follows:
- 4 Sections: The MAH MBA CET paper didn’t have sections. You would find math, verbal and reasoning questions all mixed-up in one long paper of 200 questions! So, the question of sectional cut-off scores didn’t arise. You could maximize your score in your strong areas and not bother about the weak ones. But the presence of sections this year is the one feature which will distinguish the CET 2016 from CETs of previous years, as it promises to make the test more organized, to aid the candidates. There will be no sectional time-limits though. However, will there be sectional cut-off? No one knows!
- No Negative marking: The CET does not penalize you for getting an answer wrong. So rather than leaving a question that you cannot solve, it is better to mark some option and move ahead. In CET, it used to be considered a crime to not mark all 200 responses. This aspect remains the same in 2016.
- No GD-PI: Unlike other MBA entrance exams in which you get short-listed for the GD-PI, in CET (till 2012) it was compulsory for every candidate who takes the written test to undergo the GD-PI rounds. Also, marks were allotted for GD and PI (17 marks each) in CET. As this is negligible compared to the overall marks (240), very few students were able to make a difference to their overall ranks in this round. In 2014, the GD-PI round was omitted entirely, which enabled students to gain admission into colleges only on the basis of their CET score.
- Number of options: The MBA CET till 2014 had 5 possible answers to any multiple choice question asked. In 2015, this was changed to 4 possible options for every question.
- Centralized Admissions: In CET, the admission – process is conducted online and is based on your Rank in the multiple choice examination consisting 200 questions (depending overall score out of 240, previously). This process is called the ‘Centralized Allotment Process’ (CAP). Usually the admissions go on for 3 to 4 CAP rounds before all the seats are filled. The CAP rounds for CET 2016 will not see any change, neither in process, or in the number of participating institutions.
But CET remains a speed based test (and not accuracy based like other exams). Hence all the efforts of the candidates must be concentrated at increasing their attempts (of course, with an eye on the accuracy!).
The most common questions of students that need to be answered are:
- If you are prepared for CAT and the CMAT, are you prepared for CET?
Yes and No. Yes, because you should be able to sail through the Quantitative and Verbal questions in the CET. No, because you still need to acquaint yourself with the new Logic questions and mentally prepare yourself for a speed based test that the CET is.
- Where do students lose out in the CET?
The fact that it is very easy! The scores in CET are usually very high, making it a test of speed over everything else. You will find that there are many students at a given score making it very competitive. Hence you need to work on specific areas like Visual Reasoning and Syllogisms where others do not score.
Evolution of CET
Attend a Special CPLC Workshop on ‘Changes in MBA-CET paper pattern and it’s implications on Test-taking’ on Sat, 5-Mar from 4.00-7.00 p.m. at WeSchool, Matunga Central. FREE Video Lectures of Visual Reasoning questions from Actual CET and 2 MockCET papers in the new format for everyone attending the Workshop.
The Maharashtra MBA CET has been the exam of choice for aspirants looking to secure admission in MBA/MMS within the state. MAH MBA/MMS CET is a state level MBA entrance exam for Maharashtra. This test is conducted by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) Maharashtra for admissions in Management Programs provided by various institutes.
The evolution of the MBA CET can thus be divided into three phases till date:
Pre 2011:
The MBA CET was a paper pencil test, with an OMR sheet being used to record the answers given by the candidates, there were no sections dividing questions into types, and thus the paper was a jumble of 200 questions pertaining to either Verbal, Quant, DI or Logical Reasoning, and the dominant question type in the MBA CET was always Logical reasoning. Further, the MAH MBA CET was one of the few exams that employed the use of Visual Reasoning, Spatial Reasoning etc. as question types which were often found to be very challenging by students.
CET 2011-12:
The year could be considered a landmark in the evolution of the CET as it saw a major change in the type of questions asked in the exam. But the format of the question paper, the method of administering the test, and the CAP rounds for selection into colleges remained unchanged. The distribution of topics in the question paper and the difficulty level of certain topics like VR and AR saw a change in this year. Some say it was the toughest CET ever to be held, with the average score of students dipping and the cut offs for various institutions also decreasing.
CET 2014-15:
This (2013) was the first year in which the MAH MBA CET went online from a paper pencil test. Candidates were allotted regional colleges or computer labs as the examination centre. The question paper format remained unchanged, as did the general rules and regulations for taking the examination. Candidates were presented with a portal containing 200 questions, in random order, navigation between questions and selection/flagging of an option was similar to what most centralized examination portals had to offer. It was not divided into any sections, candidates could switch to any question at any time. There were total 200 questions and time given is 2.5 hours i.e. 150 Minutes, without any question-specific timing. Number of questions for any subject/topic is not predetermined. The paper is totally jumbled up. While this did reduce the speed of the test takers, the CET nevertheless remained a test that demanded high speed and accuracy on behalf of the aspirant. Also, in this year, the GD-PI stage was eliminated entirely from the scenario and admission into colleges was provided purely on the basis of the CET score of the candidate.
CET 2016:
This year of the MAH MBA CET is poised to witness even more changes in the GUI, both in the format of the question paper, and in the number of questions in each type. It promises to make the test more organised by providing sections for different types. However, the candidates are give the freedom to move between the Sections (provided as tabs and called ‘tests’) while adhering to the normal blend of questions asked in the examination.

MH, Std-10, Guidance Lecture, Sanskrit Entire
Namo Namah Students,
Hello, I am Ruchita and today I am here to take you through a guidance lecture in sanskrit entire. With the exams round the corner we all are looking for some kind support and here I am with the few steps for you which will help you succeed in the examination. So what we are going to talk of is basically the key to success and the steps to success in the examination. First and foremost Please remember students that the key to success these are not my lines but what “Bill Cosby” says is the key to success is in order to succeed your desire for success has to be greater than your fear of failure this simply mean that if your desire to get 80 out of 80, 100 out of 100 in sanskrit entire is so very high that it over rides that small bit of will I be able to do it than you are surely going to succeed so your desire for success has to be very-very high. Now in order to succeed we need to do something so what does that we need to do we need to understand that we are only 4 steps away from success. Success such a big thing and only 4 steps away well my dear students, yes there are only 4 steps to succeed in an examination what are they here they are first and foremost you need to have the proper knowledge of the content that are going to study, second you need to understand the paper pattern which means you need to know how to integrate all this knowledge that you have in the form of those questions that are going to come in the examination, third, the next step is very-very important is the time management all of us are short of time all the time and hence its very necessary to manage this time effectively so as to put your knowledge in the right form for the paper in the examination and last but not the least in fact very-very important is the paper presentation having taken these 4 steps nothing falling short of success so that’s what you going to have you going to have success and you are going to come up with flying colour. So make sure that you follow these steps very-very carefully let us look at the first one, we are looking at the first point the first step to success is knowledge when you have taken sanskrit we all have taken it to score and sometimes we see a we don’t know that we are not really scoring why because we have not really understood what we need to do so let us see when we are looking at sanskrit entire all of us will remember that we have a written paper of 80 marks and a 20 marks oral which totals to 100 marks. Now students these marks that we are going to get or the content that we are studying can be Broken noun as follows you have the prose section, in the prose section you have 9 lessons 9 stories now these can be divided as the story forms that is the first lesson the 4th, ,the 8th and the 9th that is “anargah shad vaidhyah”, “ atmiki sampath” than you have the eight one which “amulyam vidyate sarvam”and “dvekathe swami vivekanandasya “ then you have the biographical type of a lesson which is in the one which is on “karmarkar” the dialogue form of lesson are two number one is “urja sanchaya” “evadhanaya sanchaya” the second one and the sixth one which is “rasa-swadanam” then you have the informative type of lesson which is the fifth and the seventh the fifth is the letter that we have “akshamitra habavaha” and the seventh that is “Dnyan kalpvruksha” so this is the course work that we have in prose when it comes to the poetry section we have six poetries most well know “subhashit-mala” so for recitation we have among these we have the first, the fourth and the sixth that is “subhashit-mala 1” and “antayakshari and subhashit-mala-2” so these we have to learn by heart in order to be to able to complete the verses as well as help us answer the oral questions then we have the rapid reading, in the rapid reading we have one prose and one poetry the prose we know is “kalana pravaram chitram” and the poetry is on “babasaheb ambedkar”who speaks about the importance of sanskrit then we have the unseen section mind your students though this word reads unseen something which is going to be outside of the book let me assure you students that what you get in unseen is partly seen here you have verses you have passages and dialogues for translation and the last bit which is called writing skill which is less of a skill and more of mechanical job comprises of sentences to translate into sanskrit a story to be completed or an essay. You also have framing sentences in the form of indeclinables or rules. so students with all this we are taking care of 80 + 20 100% marks of sanskrit now having understood that all these elements are a part of your textbook students if you understand that all that you have to study is to study your textbook very-very well then nothing can stop you from getting those 100 marks but how often do we read the textbook. Answer that for yourself the more you focus on the text book the better you will get at the subject taking this further students let us see the this sanskrit entire examination that we are going to take for 100 marks totally can be broken up in to percentage of marks as follows you will see that the textual part of your content comprises of the 46 out of 80 marks which means students 58 % of your marks comes from the text book directly then the next part which often
MH, Std-10, Guidance Lecture, Sanskrit Composite
Hello, I am Ruchita, and today I am taking you through a guidance lecture in Sanskrit composite
We are closed to our examination time and we need to see how we can take back home a few tips which will help us study sanskrit better. All of us have taken sanskrit composite with the intention of scoring well. Well, every one wants to succeed, but how is it that we are going to succeed. So let us see, what it is that takes us to success.
First and foremost these are not my lines, but in order to succeed remember your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure these are not my lines like I said this is what “Bill Cosby” has to say so when you realize that your desire, your wish to succeed. To do very very well is far greater than that small thought of failure which looks behind in your mind that is when you can succeed. So even if you have the fear of failure it should be so minute skill, so small that the desire for succeeding far exceeds that little bit of fear. Well, this is what we have to say about how to succeed. But then, what do we do, how do we go about actually getting success in the examination. So remember students we are only 4 steps away from the success
4 steps from something like success, how is that even possible so let me take you through the 4 steps to succeed in an examination
Remember students first and foremost if you want to succeed you have to had knowledge. So in this case we need to have knowledge of sanskrit composite. Having known what it is to study having known what is their in it what is the content ?
The next step i. e. is paper pattern you need to know what is the paper pattern so that you can convert your knowledge into forms that are usable in the examination. Well that is fine but the next important thing is very important and that is.
