Now that the CBSE results are out for the year of 2018, you need to get accustomed to the word “cGPA” and understand it completely to know where you stand in the crowd. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) let out the results of class X, 2018 in the cGPA format.
cGPA (cumulative Grade Points Average) is nothing but the average of all the grade points that is secured in all the subjects, except for the sixth additional subject.
Given below is the way your cGPA can be calculated:
CGPA that is mentioned on the report card is quite easy to calculate. Add up all the grade points for the main five subjects. For example, if you secured the following grade points in the five main subjects:
Subject #1: 9, Subject #2: 8, Subject #3: 9, Subject #4: 7, Subject #5: 7
Then, your cGPA calculation is done in the following way:
- Step #1: Add up all the above grade points – 9+8+9+7+7 = 40
- Step #2: Divide the above obtained sum by 5
Thus, your CGPA will be 40/5 = 8
Next thing you would want to calculate is your percentage. This also can also be calculated from your cGPA as explained below:
- Multiply the calculated CGPA with a factor 9.5
Thus, if your CGPA is 8.0, then the percentile will be 8*9.5 = 76 percent
