JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Pattern

Details regarding JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Pattern are given below:

  • Mode: JEE Advanced 2020 exam will get conducted in online (computer-based) mode.
  • Medium: The paper will be available in the English or Hindi language.
  • Duration: The exam will be conducted for 3 hours.
  • Paper: There will be two compulsory papers – Paper I and Paper II.
  • Questions Type: Question paper will consist of objective type of questions.
  • Subjects: The exam will contain questions from the subjects of – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Marking: There will be negative marking in the paper and will vary for different papers.

The exam paper will be in two sessions (Paper 1 and 2). Those who are selected in the IIT JEE Main 2020 are allowed to register for JEE Advanced 2020. A separate registration is required to claim candidature for the exam.

The exam for the 2020 Joint Advanced Entrance Examination (JEE) will be held on May 17th. This year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, under the direction of JAB, will conduct the exam. Since last year, the exam is organized in the same pattern. Aspirants may attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. The registration process usually begins in May, after the declaration of JEE mains result.

JEE-Advanced is the gateway to secure access to any of the 23 IITs. To appear in this test, an aspirant first qualifies JEE (Main) and ranked in the top candidates. Those who qualify JEE (Advanced), but do not find a place in the engineering branch of their choice at IIT, usually opt for the National Institutes of Technology (NIT), which admit students relying on the India ranks JEE (Main).

Eligibility Criteria

There are several eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2020 exam—

  • Only those candidates who have qualified in the JEE Main 2020 exam are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 exam.
  • The age criterion is also prescribed by the authorities. Those candidates who are born on or after 1st October 1995 are eligible for the JEE Advanced 2020 exam.
  • There is 5 years of relaxation to SC/ ST/ PwD categories candidates.
  • The candidates can give just two attempts in the consecutive years.
  • The candidates appearing in 12th class for the first time in the year 2019 or 2020 are also eligible.

Registration for JEE Advanced 2020

Qualified JEE Advanced candidates can complete the JEE Advanced 2020 application form. All of these applicants are invited to verify the full eligibility criteria for the entrance exam before completing the application form. By completing the JEE Advanced 2020 application form, applicants must provide their personal, academic and communication information. Applicants must also pay the JEE Advanced fees required with the submission of the application form, otherwise they will not be considered. Step 1 – Register in JEE Advanced 2020

  • Click on the registration link (it will be available as of your official activation)
  • It is advised to go through the given instructions carefully.
  • Now log in to the registration portal using
  • JEE main number and password
  • Enter the security pin
  • Once you have logged in, the academic, personal and communication information entered by the candidate at the time of the JEE 2020 main record is visible on the screen in read-only mode.
  • However, the JEE Advanced 2020 registration form will include additional fields that the candidate must complete:
  • The candidate will have chosen the language in which he wishes to answer the questionnaire (English or Hindi)
  • The candidate will choose a maximum of five centers according to their needs.
  • Total number of attempts, etc.
  • The candidate can also enter two additional telephone numbers in addition to the one entered during registration.

Note: Applicants must bear in mind that their registration may be canceled if they do not meet the required eligibility criteria.

Step 2 – Upload documents

After having entered all the details, the candidate must download the scanned images of the following documents:

  • Birth Certificate i.e. Class X mark-sheet.
  • Class XII exam certificate (or equivalent)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of PwD (if applicable)
  • Scribe request letter certificate (if necessary)
  • PIO Card / OCI Certificate
  • DS Certificate
  • Notification of the Name Change Gazette (only for candidates whose name differs from that indicated in the Class X certificate)

Step 3 – Payment of registration fees

Before continuing with this step, applicants must verify the category to which they belong, since the JEE Advanced 2020 registration fee is different for different categories.

 Step 4 – Printing the confirmation page

Once the payment is completed, applicants must submit the JEE Advanced 2020 application form, take a hard copy of the confirmation page and keep it secure for future use.

Syllabus of JEE Advanced 2020

The preparation for JEE Advanced 2020 begins with an adequate knowledge of the JEE Advanced 2020 program. The first thing that comes to the mind of the most ambitious candidates is what is different in JEE Advanced Syllabus. You should know which topics of the advanced JEE program are not covered in the main JEE program. As a general rule, the program does not change. Therefore, the current program can be taken into account for the preparation of the IEE JEE exam. The JEE Advanced program is designed to test not only how quickly a problem is solved, but also to verify the accuracy and resolution of advanced problems. There are many differences in the topics covered in both programs.

 Result of JEE Advanced 2020

Before the results are announced, candidates can verify the safe ranges with the Advanced Range Predictor of JEE 2020. After calculating their scores with the answer key, candidates can use online tools to calculate their ranking, their category, scores and other information presented.

IIT Delhi will provisionally announce the JEE Advanced 2020 result in the second week of June. Candidates can access the result in online mode. The individual results of the subjects, as well as the total points obtained during the examination, will be available in the result. The All India (AIR) ranking obtained by the candidates will also be present in the result.
