Establishing a career in medicine is a dream for a majority of Indian students although getting into this course can be tough considering the high levels of competition. With the advent of the National Eligibility Entrance Test(NEET) for each academic session, the thoughts and opinions of the aspiring candidates have undergone a major change. However, only those students can achieve their aim of accomplishing a career in medicine that have obtained 50th percentile in the entrance examinations and the students belonging to SC, ST and OBC category could establish their aim with 40th percentile. Things to know
The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) was brought into effect by the Central Board of Secondary Education and an option for the students to fulfill their dream of getting into some of the top medical colleges in India.
- The examination is conducted in two phases, namely section 1 and 2. The students looking forward to take this examination must understand that it is possible to take the Phase 2 examination through the system of online registration.
- Those students that have already applied for Phase I can also take the Phase II examination. The online application form can be considered by the students.
Pattern of Examination
With a clear idea about the examination and the options that the students have, there is going to be a single paper comprising of 180 multiple choice questions in which there will be four options from which one is the correct answer and all the students need to do is to select the right option.
- The subjects of this examination include Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. The students will have the option of taking the exam in English or Hindi according to their preferences.
- In addition to this, the students that have taken their Class XII examination from the state board can also consider the option of regional languages in which the paper is available for them. However, the geographical limit for taking the exam in the regional language must be kept in mind by the students.
Latest notification about NEET 2016
According to decision of the honorable Supreme Court in India, those students that have taken the examination in the first phase can take the examination in the second phase when they are not sure about their performance in the first one. The second phase of the examination will be held on July 24, 2016 for which the students will be filling the application form online along with the desired fees. The results of the examination are likely to be published on August 17, 2016.
