Everything That You Wanted To Know About NEET 2016 Examination

With the approval of the Supreme Court to put an end to the state level medical entrance examinations, the National Eligibility Entrance Test(NEET) for making a career in medicine seems to lay a few steps ahead. However, it is hard to deny that the decision has confounded the minds of the students that have been preparing for the entrance examinations with a different viewpoint in mind. However, they have to get a clear idea about the examination and its components instead of getting prepossessed with clueless ideas and vision.

NEET Examination at a glance

The National Eligibility Entrance Test comprises of objective type questions with multiple choice for taking admission to MBBS, BDS and the Post Graduate medical courses in India. It is similar to the All India PreMedical or PreDental Examinations that were held previously and the only change is that the students can no longer take the examinations that were conducted at the state level. The examination will be conducted in two separate rounds. Take a quick look at the following points.

  • The subjects of the test include Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
  • The first phase of the examination was held on May 1, 2016 which is similar to the medical entrance examination or AIPMT that was conducted by CBSE. Until now, no changes have been incorporated in the pattern or the syllabus of the examinations and the students must concentrate on taking it with a positive mindset.
  • The second round of the examination differs slightly as it is meant for the students that were to take the examination at the state level. In short, the students will get the opportunity of fulfilling their aim of a career in medicine once again on July 24, 2016, the day in which the second phase of this examination will be held for the aspiring candidates in medicine.

Result of the NEET entrance examination

According to the Supreme Court, the level of this examination will be higher than the combined medical entrance examinations that were conducted separately.  The candidates that are keen to establish a career in the field of medicine can now prepare for a single examination or NEET regardless of the state level syllabus that they have followed for establishing their aim. However, the differences in the syllabus of this entrance examination when compared with those that were held at the state level and for the private medical colleges will not be an issue of concern for the students.

Things to remember

The students that have been left in a confused state of mind with the introduction of this single medical entrance test can now breathe free and move ahead with their preparations. In states such as Tamilnadu, wherein there was no entrance examination for taking admission into a medical course might encounter little difficulties with the subjects and the contents of the examination. The crux is that no major changes have taken place as far as the syllabus of the medical and dental entrance examinations are concerned and the students can set to make a comeback with their aims of achieving the best.
