XAT entrance exam make the candidates eligible for admission into 11-member institutes of XLRI and around 150 B-schools. The admission into the institute of choice depends on the candidate’s performance and the cut-off marks as set by the institute.
About one lakh candidate appear for XAT every year. XAT will be conducted in 46 cities in India and 2 countries abroad, Dubai and Kathmandu

Release of XAT notification and start of registration: 20th August 2018
Last date for registration in XAT: 30th November 2018 without late fees
7th December 2018 before 5 pm with late fees

This online based exam is scheduled to be held on 6th January 2019 for duration of 3 hours.
Exam Eligibility
Among all the MBA entrance exams, XAT has the least eligibility criteria. Here we present the eligibility criteria in the simplified format
Qualification: The candidate has to be a graduate in any stream or atleast the candidate should in the final year of degree program
Marks: The candidate should have a valid passed graduation certificate at the time of admission. There is no minimum marks requirement by XLRI, in contradiction to other MBA entrance exams which makes mandatory for the students to have certain qualifying percentage.
Age: There is no age bar for the candidates to appear for XAT.
Gender: All candidates irrespective of gender are eligible for the exam
NRI or foreign candidates: These candidates can apply through GMAT scores. Dubai and Kathmandu based students can apply through GMAT or by appearing for XAT.
Registration & Application form
Read the instructions carefully before start of registration and application to avoid errors and wastage of time.
XAT application and registration has started in August and the candidates can apply until 30 November without any late fees. Incase the candidates have missed to apply they still have the chance to apply for XAT with late fee till 7th December.
The candidates should have an active mobile number and email ID throughout the XAT procedure to receive timely notifications.
The candidates should visit the website and register to get the username and password
Once the registration is complete with username and password, the candidates should fill the application form with correct personal, academic and professional details. When applying, keep all the documents by your side to allow easy and accurate filling of information. In addition, to certificate s and I’d proofs, the application also requires passport size photo, latest and image of signature.
Complete the final step of application by making online payment. The candidates need not send any hard copy to XLRI.
Your name, date of birth, mobile number and email address cannot be changed once registration is complete. No changes in the application form are possible after closing of application form dates.

2019 Admit Card
It can be downloaded from 20 December 2018 until the day of exam. The candidates can download the form by visiting XLRI website and giving the username and password same as given at the time of registration. Verify all the details in the admit card candidates name, registration number, test center, photo and sign. Carry a valid identity proof along with the admit card for verification of the candidate. Any discrepancy should be immediately reported.
2019 Exam Pattern
XAT exam pattern has been changed since last year. Previously there were 5 sections and now it is 4 sections. XAT 2019 is online based test which has 4 sections, verbal and logical ability, decision making, quantitative ability and data interpretation and general knowledge. There have been major changes in XAT 2019. The duration of test is reduced from 3.5 hours to 3 hours and subjective type questions have been removed. XAT 2019 will not have any essay to be written. It is a multiple choice based question paper each question having 5 options. There are 100 question and each question carries one mark and a wrong answer will carry 0.25 penalty. There is no negative marking for general knowledge section.
2019 Syllabus
There is no specific syllabus for XAT, the candidate should be thorough in principles and logic of Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension & Logical Reasoning; Decision Making; Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation. The general knowledge questions can be from any field of politics, health, education science, etc.
Exam Centres
The candidate can have the option of selecting the exam center at the time of application for XAT. The center once selected cannot be changed, hence the candidate have t be very vigilant while selection. Here we list you the exam centers for XAT 2019

Cutoff 2019
The cutoff marks for XAT 2019 will be released by XLRI to get admission into the B-schools across the country. XAT cutoff marks will depends on the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates appearing for the test and the seat available.
