Hello students, By this time you must have finish reading the entire syllabus you must appeared for your terminals examination as well as prelims. This is the time for you to build your courage and identify those areas that need a lot of attention were the few instruction related to paper presentation, this will surely help you to enhance your performance in history and political science.

Let us begin with weightage of chapter in history: – In history we have got four (4) units.

Unit 1: That is Imperils comprises of three chapter 1a,1b,1c the mass allotted to this particular unit is 6 marks and marks with option is 9 marks.

Unit 2: Age of conflicts 20th century age of conflicts comprises of 5 chapters, the total marks allotted to this particular unit is 12 and the marks with option is 17 marks.

Unit 3: Emancipation of Asia and Africa comprises of 2 chapters: 3a and 3b and it carries 4 marks and marks with option is 5.

Unit 4: World after World War 2 comprises Of 3 chapters: 4a, 4b, 4c it carries 6 marks and marks with option is 8.

Now let’s move on to the paper pattern : History and political science paper is of 50 marks the written paper is of 40 marks and 10 marks have been given for internal assessment the times allotted for writing the paper is 2 hours. The very first question is based on objectives:

Q. 1(A) Is complete the following statements by choosing a appropriate alternative from those given in the brackets, it carry 3 marks you have to write the complete sentence underline the blanks and you have to avoid cancellation as far as possible. Remember students the first impression is not the last but the lasting impression, so do not attempt this questions in this. In case if you written wrong answer you have to cancelled a statement and rewrite the entire statement.

Ex. Karl Marks was a Russian philosopher.

In such case you have written RUSSIAN that is wrong answer, so cancelled this statements and write

Karl Marks was a German philosopher.

For the fill the blanks you suppose to read all textual fill in the blanks as well as extra fill the blanks.

Next question is Match the columns it carries 3 marks. Match the columns is based on Personality-Nationality, Personality-Position, Personality-Political party, Personality -achievement, Place-Importance.

Draw a table and write the answers: (1) Dr. Sun Yet-Sen. He belong to Kuomintang Party

(2) Trivet Lie occupy the first secretary general of UNO

(3 ) Vijay Bhatkar India’s first super computer that’s personality and achievements

So for match the columns again you suppose to read all the chapters.

Let’s move on question no 2. Answer each of the following question in 25 to 30 words ?

Good day kids,

My name is Pravin shinoy and I teach Geography and Economics. I hope by now, in a school the question of geography and economics its over, so right now you are busy in paper for your board exams for geography and economics and obviously you might be have a several questions “की पेपर में कोश्चन कोनसे आएंगे, कितने मार्क्स के आएंगे और कितने टाइम में कम्प्लीट करना है”. So let’s begin with the guidance lecture of geography and economics and the very first one is going to be the paper pattern along with the time management.

To begin with we all know geography and economics is going to be a 40 marks paper. In this 40 marks paper 28 marks is reserved for geography and 12 marks is for economics. 28 marks geography “ke liye” you have 4 questions and 12 marks economics “ke liye” you have 3 questions.

So let’s began with the geography paper pattern and that is going to be question no. 1 having two sub-question A and B and both A and B are called as the objectives. Well in A is called as Fill in the Blanks choosing the correct alternatives wherein every blank “ke liye” you will be having at least 4 options. Out of 4 options one will be the right option pick-up the right option and write the answer unlike the blank properly. For example, let’s see the question is dash(—) river flows in the south western part of the bagha region. In front of you, you can see the options also let’s see we picked-up the answer as Sabarmati and we wrote the answer as Sabarmati we know Sabarmati is a wrong answer the correct answer is river-loni. We felt the answer is wrong now what to do rather than cancelling only the blank put a strike mark to the entire sentence and re-write the entire answer once again with the correct blank. This is the way you have going to attempt the fill in the blanks of geography which will give you 3 marks 3 questions and the approximate time to solve these questions is five minutes going on towards next question and this next question is called as question no. 1B called as match the columns again just like a fill in the blanks match the columns also is for 3 marks and the time is 5 minutes. In front of the name column A that is the question you will writing the name B that is the answer in the following format you can see on the slide that means I can say both 1A and 1B are called as a objectives that is 6 marks which will give you nearly 10 minutes going on towards next questions and this next question is called as the short answers of the geography having 2 sub-questions again that is question no. 2 wherein A is called as give geographic reasons and B is called as write short note. In the give reasons you need to make a choice of any two and in short notes you also make a choice of any two. Any two out of how many, any two out of three. So in simply terms I can say give reason will be any two out of three, short notes any two out of any three. 2 marks each answer’s that’s mean give reasons will be for 4 marks and short notes will be the 4 marks. 6minutes for each answer that means for give reasons 12 minutes and 12 minutes for short-notes in simply terms both the short answers I can say we nearly have 24 minutes in our hand every answer carry 2 marks that means half marks is given for each point that means for 2 marks we need to write at least 4 points.

Hello students, this is Seema here, your English teacher and now that the exams around the corner I know that there are lot of questions specially with respect to English but don’t worry with this lecture that I am going to present to you, you will be finding the English paper very very simple so let’s start with the English guidance lecture. Now when it comes to english I now there are various aspect that we have to study and there are lot of things that you need to know and you wonder how you going to overcome all those but you can see there if you can believe you can achieve. So if you believe you can do it you can do well in English you will surely achieve that goal so when it comes to English what are the various aspect that we have look at we have prose we have poetry we have rapid reading and we have grammer along with writing skills. Now the question is, how do I go about the studying? And how do I attempt the paper? is what you would want to know, so let us take a look at this guidance lecture and we are going to divided into three aspects,

1) Paper pattern and time management.

2) We are gone to look at the detailed approach towards each sections of the paper that is (prose, poetry, rapid reading).

3) Details approach towards each section will continue where we will talk about writing skills, so this is how we are going to cover entire English paper.

Let’s start with paper pattern and time management, now we now that the English paper is going to be for 80 marks, the written paper is going to be for 80 marks and time would be 3 hours, students we will target finishing it in 2 hours 45 minutes. 15 minutes have to kept as buffer time because you will given the paper then you would want to string to tie then you would want to supplement you have to sign and all that takes time and also need to check the paper once it is over so we are going to target finishing the paper in 2 hours 45 minutes, let’s see how we going to do that section one you can see here we are talking about question we are talking about the marks and the time that is required section one reading skill vocabulary grammar now this deals with prose passages and first you will be having two seen prose passages and the marks would be 10 per passage so into two will make it twenty marks and the timing would be 15 minutes per passage so in 30 minutes you should be completing the two seen prose passages students don’t worry you will be able to do it when you see further the breakup distributions of the marks you will realize is going to be easily done in 15 minutes provided you have read your lessons well in it once.

Now two seen prose passages these are going to be from your text book you know that there are 8 units of prose and every units has either two or three lessons any of these lessons would be asked in any passage from the lesson there is no choice you have to answer the both the next questions would be two unseen prose passages again the same marking scheme that is 10 marks two passages 20 marks total and we are going to take 15 minutes per passage 30 minutes again. So in one hour time you will finish writing the four prose passage two seen and two would be unseen.

Section 2 deals with poetry here is going to be only seen poetry ok, so you are going be asked in question no.3 two seen poems and each poem will have wait age of 5 marks two poems therefore 10 marks in all and time taken would be 10 minutes per poetry passage and total would be 20 minutes.

Next section 3 Rapid reading so you would be asked one passage, you have three rapid reading lessons you would be asked one passage, 5 marks for the passage and you will again take only 10 minutes. So here this first part 55 marks, will required 1 hour 30 minutes.

Now we go on to the next section very -very important the Writing Skills section. i.e. section 4 now here questions number 5 would have two parts to it, 5A- would will be letter writing either formal or informal any one of it again the marks would be 5 and time required would be 15 minutes. Then we have question 5(b) Report Writing or dialogue there is choice there you will write any one will be for 5 marks and 15 minutes, then we move on to Question 6, 6(a) could be information transfer and you have a choice between non-verbal to verbal and verbal to non-verbal will see what it is till later when we deal with writing skill section in detail you to answer to any one and again it for 5 marks and you will require 15 minutes.

Question 6(b) Speech Writing view and counter-view any one of the two now this is something new view and counter-view we gone to talk about it later 5 marks again and 15 minutes.

And finally Question no. 7. Expansion of Idea Or developing a story any one which is again 5 marks and you would required 15 minutes so this section would be requiring 1 hours 15 minutes and the marks would be 25.

So students let’s take a look at break-up again passages 1 hours 30 minutes, which means the seen passages and the unseen passages two each, two seen poems and one R-R passage then the writing skills 1 hours 15 minutes the paper checking time as I said 15 minutes should be buffer time you should finish the paper in 2 hours 45 minutes so you could utilize these 15 minutes to check your paper in case there is something remaining you can actually completed in these 15 minutes so that how you finish your English paper in 3 hours.

Now let us take a look at the details approach towards each section so first we will look at seen passage there going to be two passage 10 marks each 20 marks total. Let see at the questions here:-

Hello students, my name is Pankaj and now we shall discuss the strategies to prepare and score in algebra. So the most basic and the most important thing that you required whenever you are entering the examination hall enter with the correct confidence that is the most important thing. You know many of times of come out and saying we knew everything in the paper but still we couldn’t score because we did lots of silly mistakes. Now the question is why you all do silly mistakes you keep on hearing this from so many students, we knew the calculations well, we know 4 * 4 = 16 but in paper it becomes 8 so what is the reason you all are doing so many silly mistakes in the exam, the reason is simple somewhere you are not very-very confident while writing the paper, somewhere there is lots of examinations stress, lots of examinations pressures and in that stress, in that pressure, you tend to forget all the calculation that you already know. And then you do the silly mistakes. That’s why it becomes very important that whenever you enter the examination hall enter with the correct confidence but then there are certain things that you need to do while entering the examination hall to get that right confidence and the first and the most important thing is you should have the basic knowledge about the subject. Now what do we exactly mean by you should have basic knowledge about the subject, what does that mean, always ensure that you know all the concepts given in the textbook you should have that basic understanding of all the concepts which are there in the textbook, you know whenever you study always study concept-wise for example if you are learning say linear equation so always learn, always evaluate whether I know the graphical method that’s one concept whether I know the crammers rule that’s the second concept than exercise 3.4 where we substitute and re-substitute since variables are there in denominator, do i know the concept of consistency and inconsistency well do I know the word problem well always keep on asking these questions to you so whenever you are doing a particular chapters see to it that you know all the concepts given in that chapter everything you should know in that chapter and if you don’t this is a right time go to your teacher and get all your doubts clarified, get your concepts clarified. That will give you the confidence, I know everything in algebra.

Don’t forget to do the solved examples as well so why is it important to solved example see we are not saying that they will come in exam it will not come in the exam, lets not get in to that debate ke solved example ayenge kya solved example nahi ayenge to kya? Why should we waste time in solved examples. But it is very important for you have to do the solved examples because you know whenever you all don’t do the solved examples somewhere in the back of you mind you know ki I can score good marks in algebra and I have not done solved examples, you are always in that confusion state of mind whether I should do whether I should not. And in that confuse state of mind you tend to call up 10 friends of yours , you know you keep on doing you have this habit ke aap apane friend ko phone karenge ya tune ye solved examples kiye hai kya you know you waste so much of time so much as energy in deciding whether you should do solved examples or not rather utilize that time and energy doing in the solved example we are not saying practice these every solved example but at least go through every solved example that will give you the right confidence ,right so don’t forget to go through the solved examples and don’t wait till the board exams to do the solved examples do it now every night before sleeping half an hours do solved example for one chapter there are six chapter six days your solved examples will get over, at least you will be satisfied, at least you will be confident that we know the solved examples also, right , makes sense. Do not leave anything for option you know many a times we tend to get tempt that ki itna sara option hai let us leave this chapter for option let us leave this concept for option, never do that. You should know everything so do everything don’t leave anything for option. you can always set priorities in exams whether you should attempt this or not but you should at least know the concept you know many come to us and say statistic 1 we don’t want to attempt because there are lots of calculations its ok but at least you should know the concepts what its there is which you don’t know then statistics 1 always attempt I am just giving you an example so don’t leave it anything for option last but definitely not least don’t waste much time doing the non textual sums you may do hundred non textual sums what is the hundred an first sums comes in the exam what will you do rather utilized that time in making the hots given in the textbook absolutely perfect utilized that time in doing the solved example and after doing all these if there is some time left then try to do few small textual sums but don’t give it the priority right, just giving you the basic knowledge of what is the chapter wise weightage of algebra as we all know arithmetic progression with option it will come for 12 marks in the board exam quadratic equations 12, linear 12,probability 10, statistic-1 6 marks, statistics-2 8 so total 60 marks out of which you need to attempt 40 marks as simple as that so this is the chapter wise weight-age that for your information so this is what meant by you should have the basic knowledge about the subject. The second thing which is required to get that confidences, the time management during the exam you know many of time you are not aware how much time is allotted to us to solved a particular sum and we just feel ki we should write a paper fast only then the paper get over to early, the paper will get over in time but in that but in that hurry we again tempt to make lots of silly mistake that’s why its becomes very important for all to have a proper time management during the examination so what is a time management acting in to follow during the examination see we all know that ki we have a 40 marks paper for which we get 2 hours that is 120 minutes so for 40 marks we get 120 minutes so the equation is simple that every mark the allotted time is 3 minutes this means if you are attempting a 1 mark question the time allotted is 3 minutes you are not supposed to take more than 3 minutes for a 2 marks questions 6 minutes for a 3 marks questions 9 minutes, 4 marks 12 minutes and 5 marks 15 minutes. All multiple of 3 right, this is how your paper pattern is which I am sure you much knowing by now question no. 1 attempt any 5 out of 6, 5 marks these are all 1 mark questions so per question allotted time is 3 minutes

Std-11, Science, Mathematics, Chapter-10, Circles

By |Categories: Archive - 2015-16|Tags: , , , , |

Good morning class, today we will start with new chapter, Circles. Everybody knows what is a circle.

Circle is locus of a point which moves in such a way that its distance from a fixed point remains

constant. So the locus of that point which moves in such a way that from a fixed point the distance is

always constant. This constant distance is called as radius. And the fixed point is called centre. So

everybody of you knows what is a circle.

Let us talk about equations of circle. Equation of circle whose centre is x1, y1 and radius is a, is x

minus x1 whole square plus y minus y1 whole square equals to a square, centre x1y1 radius a.

Equation of centre of circle is origin and radius is a is x square plus y square is equal to a square. If

you put 0,0 in the place of x1y1 you will get x square plus y square is equal to a square.

Solve one question, find equation of circle with centre 1,2 and passing through point minus 2,6. Find

equation of circle with centre 1,2 passing through point minus 2,6. Hence radius will be this distance,

by distance formula we can find radius is 3 square plus 4 square under the root that is 5. Hence

equation of circle is x minus 1 whole square, x minus x1 whole square plus y minus y1 whole square

is equal to r square. Solving this we get x square plus y square minus 2 x minus 4y minus 20 equals to

0, solving this we get this equation, this is equation of circle. So to find the equation of circle we

always will need two things, centre and radius, if we get the centre and radius then the equation of

circle is very easy to get. x minus x1 whole square plus y minus y1 whole square equals to a square.

General equation of circle, x square plus y square plus 2gx plus 2fy plus c is equal to zero represents

general equation of circle. In this the coefficient of x square and y square is the same and the

coefficient of xy is zero. So in general 2 degree equation, when the coefficient of x2 and y2 is the

same and the coefficient of xy is zero, the equation will be the equation of circle. If I complete the

whole square then we can see this equation becomes x plus g whole square plus y plus f whole

square equals g square plus f square minus c. From here we can see that centre is minus g, minus f

and radius is square root of g square plus f square minus c. Centre is minus g, minus f, radius is

square root of g square plus f square minus c.

If we take a small example, see this is the equation. This will be the equation of a circle. The centre

will be half of coefficient of x, 2, change the sign, half of coefficient of y, 3, change the sign of that

also, and radius will be square root of g square plus f square minus c. Minus and minus is plus 1 that

is square root of 14. Clear? Centre is minus g, minus f and radius is square root of g square plus f

square minus c.

Let us start solving few questions. Find equation of circle which passes through centre of this circle, x

square plus y square plus 8 x plus 10 y minus 7 equal to zero. Centre is minus 4, minus 5. And is

concentric with this circle. While simplifying this circle we will divide it by 2, now this will come into a

standard format. The centre of this will be minus g, minus f that is minus 2, 3. We have to look out

for such a circle which passes through the first point and the second point will be its centre. Hence

find equation of circle passing through centre of first circle and concentric with this circle. Hence this

will be radius, so what is radius, minus 6 whole square, 8 square under root 100 that is 10. So

equation of circle is, equation of this required circle is x minus x1 whole square plus y minus y1

whole square equals to r square. On simplifying we will get x square plus y square minus 4x minus 6

y plus 4 plus 9 plus 13 minus 87 equals to zero. x square plus y square minus 4 x minus 6y minus 87 is

equal to zero. Is this clear to everybody? Very good.

Let us solve next question. Equation of circle whose radius is 5, centre lies on y axis and which

passes through 3,2. Radius is 5, centre lies on y axis, it is on y axis so the y coordinate will be zero.

Let us assume centre to be 0,a. It is passing through 3,2, radius is 5. We will make the equation,

make the radius 5, hence 9 plus a minus 2 whole square is equal to 25, a minus 2 whole square is

equal to 16, a minus 2 is 4, or a minus 2 is minus 4, a equals to 6, or a equals to minus 2. There are

two values of 1 so there are corresponding two circles. First will be x….
